    At Empower Counselling Services Winnipeg we take a zero-pressure approach to your finding a Winnipeg counsellor inquiry process. We truly believe that, to begin your healing process, you need the right supports, and we may or may not be the right support for you—no therapist is the right fit for every person. Your gut will help you determine that after reading our website and after talking with us for a consultation if you'd find that helpful—see more details below.

    Our zero pressure approach includes your first appointment as well as follow-up appointments. While we will be more than happy to make recommendations for how often to meet and how to space your appointments, especially the first few appointments until we gain some momentum and we get into your desired therapeutic rhythm, we will not push you to book as many appointments as possible or to stay in therapy as long as possible. You may hear us say things like "trust your gut on how often you'd like to meet and/or how often you can afford to meet."

    The Inner Conflict

    You know that thing when you know you want to take an important step but you shrug it off, saying to yourself, "I'll do it tomorrow?" Those can be moments of intense inner conflict, and for many people, to find a counsellor in Winnipeg is a lot like that.  You want to send that email or submit that appointment form, or dial that number and make the call, but can't get yourself to do it. Perhaps you've already written the email or filled out the appointment form, and simply can't get yourself to hit the send or submit button.

    For many people, taking the step of reaching out is one of the toughest steps in the counselling therapy process. Not knowing how the process works is often a big part of the anxiety, which is the reason we do my best to offer several ways to connect and help you understand the processjust one small way we believe we can help you navigate the anxiety and overwhelm.

    For First Appointment Bookings

    If, after browsing our website, you are feeling ready to book your first counselling therapy appointment, simply click "Book Your Appointment with..." and schedule your first appointment. Within minutes of booking your appointment, you will receive an automated email with the appointment details, including: Date, time, address, parking, how to find us in the building, and a few initial forms to submit prior to the appointment.

    You may be wondering, "Do I need to bring something to my first session?" Or, "How do I prepare for my first session"? If that's you, no need to worry. There's nothing you have to bring. Just show up as you are, with some sense of what you want to work on in therapy. However, some clients like to bring a pen and notebook/journal to jot down some important notes such as homework, books and videos we may discuss, or important aha's in session.     For Inquiries

    As mentioned earlier, we have a strict "no pressure" practice for booking with us after you've inquired. This is your journey of finding a nearby counsellor that's a good fit for you.

    And as it is with many decisions in life, it's quite normal to feel undecided, ambivalent, unclear, uncertain... whether this is the right time to seek counselling therapy in Winnipeg. If you have any questions before you book your first full appointment, we would be more than happy connect.
